The new autotec Skater Vario, available from February 2025, serves as a chassis for various stapling and nailing tools from the BeA and KMR brands. The technology, which has been established for years and has now been further developed with many intelligent features, offers the following advantages for professional users:
- Time savings in timber frame construction
- Reduction of physical strain
- Precise and safe serial stapling and nailing

Why do our customers need the new autotec Skater Vario?
The shortage of employees and the reduction of physically demanding activities are forcing automation in timber frame construction – even in structures characterised by craftsmanship. Skater technology from the autotec brand is an economical alternative to operating a stationary nailing bridge, particularly for panelling. The use of the tool also saves time compared to manual fastening and increases the fastening quality.
In addition to the various details that simplify the application, one of the main advantages of the autotec Skater Vario is that it enables fastening in the 0° position as well as the classic 30° fastening of the staples. With the corresponding new version of Eurocode 5, this will reduce the required timber thickness for the frame work to be installed, resulting in considerable cost savings for the fabricator.
Further benefits for the professional user
The further development of the proven technology also reduces the installation time for serial mounting. The device is pulled over the work surface and triggers at predefined distances of 40 mm, 50 mm, 66.7 mm, 100 mm or 200 mm. Thanks to the precisely guided path control and bearing grooves, fastening distances and pre-drawn lines are precisely maintained while the autotec Skater Vario is guided to the side of the panel with the adjustable edge stop.
This edge stop enables precise fastening with staples and nails so that the edge distances of the fasteners are maintained in accordance with Eurocode 5 and the manufacturer’s processing guidelines without time-consuming recording of the fastening points. Also, manual release is possible. This means that start, end and panel joints can also be reworked with the autotec Skater Vario. The infinitely variable height adjustment and the no-mark wheels also prevent unwanted running and pressure marks on the chassis.
The Skater technology also makes serial mounting easier for the user. Instead of having to constantly bend down or kneel to carry out the fastening, a standing handle allows users to work comfortably in an upright position. The new model’s handle can be adjusted in both height and angle. This reduces physical strain and increases the quality of fastening.
The autotec Skater Vario is equipped with a short handle as standard. For convenient two-man operation, it can be customised and equipped with the long handle, for example. This means that elements up to three metres wide can be easily processed.
Working with the autotec Skater Vario is not only faster and more ergonomic compared to conventional manual fastening, but also safer. The handles are equipped with a release lock: The release lever can only be activated when they are unlocked.
